Horse-friendly riding without a saddle!
The Barefoot® 'Ride-on-Pad' Physio has a special removable padded underside. It is supplied with two different padding inserts (made of cellular rubber and soft PU foam) which can be inserted into the underside.
The padding provides significant spine clearance and additional protection for the horse's back.
We therefore recommend the Barefoot® 'Ride-on-Pad' Physio especially for:
-older horses
-horses with visible spinous processes and poorly muscled backs
-with regular use
cross-country rides
-heavier riders
-very slim riders
Most bareback pads are more harmful to the horse than comfortable because the straps run directly over the horse's back and "distribute" the weight to a maximum of two spinous processes.
The Barefoot® 'Ride-on-Pad' Physio has a V-strapping which distributes the pressure over the entire pad via invisible straps.
We have deliberately omitted the possibility of attaching stirrups, as standing in the stirrups would also lead to localised pressure.
The Barefoot® 'Ride-on-Pad' Physio is padded with high-density foam of different thicknesses and has a very good hold on the horse's back due to the Sympanova underside material. The microfibre top surface gives the rider good support even during fast movements and allows fine weighting. The rider sits absolutely non-slip and securely even without stirrups.
Thanks to the easy-care microfibre, the pad is child's play to clean: simply wipe with a damp cloth, machine wash at 30° wool cycle possible. Even with heavy use, there is no colour abrasion or staining of the material - the microfibre is insensitive to moisture.
The webbing is stabilised by patches. The patches have an underside made of real sheep's wool and are therefore very fur-friendly and the girth does not chafe. For smaller horses (up to 150cm) the patches are not necessary.
